rain.

it rained today. i'm told that it was radioactive, and that it's bad if it touches you. this morning, i was more concerned with putting in my headphones than putting up my umbrella. so i got rained on. just a little bit. i hope that i wake up with cool superpowers.

01 December 2010

hello, december.

this december is definitely going to be the greatest month of my life so far. probably.

here's all the super exciting stuff that i have to look forward to:

saturday, 4 december: YG family concert. my tickets are for the floor section, stage right, in the front. i'm making a sign for T.O.P, and he will see it. ummheckyess.

sunday, 5 december: YG family concert. i'm going twice because i'm twice as awesome as normal people. or something like that...

wednesday, 15 december: T.O.P and GD's first digital single drops.

saturday, 18 december: C.N.Blue concert. yay-ness!!

friday, 24 december: this will be an especially exceptional day for two reasons. first, and most importantly, this is the day that T.O.P and GD's full-length cd will be released. EXCITEMENT!! second, this is the last day of school before my long-awaited and definitely well-deserved vacation. [and by "vacation" i mean, "not-vacation" since winter camps will starts the following monday. but, on the bright side i won't have to deal with certain...things.]

friday, 31 december: Rain's farewell concert. i also have floor seats for this concert, very close to the stage. since Rain will be joining the military for his mandatory 2-year service, this will be his last concert for a very long time. sadness.

i'm sure that december will hold other exciting things too, but these are definitely my best plans that i'm looking forward to!! this month will be a great way to send 2010 out with a bang~~

ghetto avatar

last wednesday, thursday, and friday, i went on a trip with my fifth graders to 부여 [buyeo] and 궁주 [gongju] to learn about 백제본기 [the baekche dynasty]. it was significantly less exciting than the 6th grade trip, which is probably why i have delayed in writing about it. [not that my -2 readers actually care, i'm sure...]

since the bus ride was going to be approximately 123494 hours long, the driver decided we should watch "avatar". i was excited, because i was literally the only person in the world who had not seen the movie yet. [SPOILER alert: i still haven't seen it.] little did i know that we were about to enjoy "super ghetto bootleg avatar".

i'm assuming that the original film had a legit, at least semi-epic ending. also, i'm assuming that in the original film, the battle sequence that would ultimately decide the fate of pandora did NOT end with the music video for 비/rain's "love song". because that is exactly what happened in the bus driver's version of the film. just when things were starting to get all intense and epic-like, BAM! rain comes onto the screen and starts ripping off his shirt and singing and dancing in the street. not that i minded, i just would have preferred to have seen this after the end of the movie. [maybe instead of the credits or something...not in the middle of the climax.]

PICTURED: NOT part of the original U.S. theatrical release.

also, i did not do my g-dragon "heartbreaker" performance. this is either because 1) my coteacher forgot to tell the guy in charge, or 2) the mc decided to not allow a crazy white girl to sing and dance to this song. [i would like to assume it's reason #2. good decision mc, good decision.] but, i did have to wear a kitty-ear headband and dance to t-ara's "bo peep bo peep". which was somehow less embarassing.

on the trip, i saw a lot of places that were kind of interesting [mostly museums] and had an ok time overall. the four tour guides that were assigned to my school were muy caliente, which always helps. and i learned 17 new korean phrases.

so now i can say the following conversation:

  • 영어 할수있어요? [can you speak english?]
  • 한국말 조금해요. [i can speak a little korean.]
  • 관심있어요? [are you interested in me? (drop the ? and it becomes "i'm interested in you".)]
  • 잘생겼어요. [you're handsome.]
SCORE!! [almost ready to meet T.O.P *^____^*]

i figured i should include an actual photo from the trip.

rainism

the dream concert was every bit as amazing as i had expected it to be. 21 of the hottest kpop groups performed in front of an audience more than 40,000 strong.
allison and i sat in the 소녀시대 [SNSD/Girls' Generation] fan club section, which was actually pretty cool. the girls sitting next to us we're sooo excited about the concert, it was cute.

unfortunately, it rained. the ENTIRE time. with an exception of maybe 15 minutes when, ironically, 비/Rain was performing.

rockin' the poncho.

every act was sooo good, in my opinion, that it was easy to get in to all of the performances. [also, it helps when the majority of the performers are incredibly attractive ㅋㅋㅋ].

my favorite performances were, without a doubt, by C.N.Blue, SS501, and Rain. but then again, i absolutely LOVE them [and by "absolutely love" i, of course, mean "am completely obsessed with"] so perhaps i'm just a little biased ^^

C.N.Blue

SS501

Rain

sadly, he did not rip off his shirt.

also, i decided that Rain is a candidate for the position of "my future husband" in the event that things do not work out with t.o.p

i even made a sign to make him aware of my undying love. yeah, it's that crucial~~

Rain~~i love you

also, i was very impressed with the girls' group f(x), and of all the female performers, they were definitely my favorite.

i still have this song stuck in my head:

dream concert 2010

five hours, forty-six minutes and counting until dream concert 2010 begins!!

dream concert is a yearly event held in seoul, and it features the hottest kpop groups.

i went to dream concert 2009, and it was amazing~~so i fully expect tonight's concert to be BANGIN'!! especially since 21 different groups will be performing. i am most excited about seeing SS501, C.N.Blue, B2st/Beast, U-Kiss, Lee Hyori, Super Junior, and Rain.

sadly, my beloved BIGBANG will not be performing this year. but the dream concert comittee people have more than made up for that by including plentiful other eye candies~~namely one 비 [rain], the sexiest man in the world.

pictured: God's gift to women.

the following eye candies will also be in attendance:

김현중~~kim hyun joong [SS501]

정용화~~jung yong hwa [C.N.Blue]

김희철~~kim heechul [Super Junior]~~also this year's host

and many, many more...

this year, i will go with fellow kpop enthusiasts allison, andre, and coleen. unknowingly, we bought tickets for the Girls' Generation fan club section. so that should be...interesting.

yeah, we'll be sitting with their fanclub...
